Sportswriter Jonathan Tjarks died from cancer; he was 34

Sportswriter Jonathan Tjarks passed away at the age of 34 on Saturday night. He was suffering from cancer.

In April 2021, Jon was diagnosed with the rarest form of cancer called BCOR-CCNB3 sarcoma, and the battle between him and the disease had been going on since then.

Jonathan Tjarks is survived by his wife Melissa and a son named Jackson. Melissa confirmed his demise through an emotional post in a journal. The post is titled ‘Home in Heaven.’ She mentioned in the post that during the last few days, Jonathan was with his family and two close friends.

Jonathan was working for The Ringer. He used to write articles on NBA. The Ringer is a website and podcast platform and has paid its tributes to the departed soul through a tweet and an article. In October 2021, he joined the podcast platform as well. Here, he used to talk about the things he was going through.

Jonathan Tjarks also had a blog of his own. He used to write blogs about the books of the Bible. His last blog was about Isaiah, and it was published in February 2022.

Many famous personalities in the sports media field have paid their tributes to Jonathan through their tweets. Bill Simmons, Ricky O’Donnell, Zack Kram, etc., are among them.

A fundraiser campaign has been started for the family of Jonathan Tjarks. Interested people can contribute at GoFundMe. To date, $190,200 has been raised through donations. The fundraiser has been organized by Jonathan’s friends Kirk Henderson and Josh Bowe.
