Patti LuPone’s brother Robert LuPone, the ‘Sopranos actor,’ passed away at the age of 76. He was also famous with the name Bob LuPone. He had been suffering from pancreatic cancer for the last three years and took his last breath on Saturday.

Robert LuPone founded MCC theatre in New York in 1986. The MCC theatre was earlier known as off-Broadway theatre. The official Twitter page of MCC has also posted about Robert’s demise.

Patti LuPone’s brother Robert LuPone was born in 1946 and belonged to Brooklyn. He spent his childhood in Northport, Long Island. He completed his college studies at Adelphi University. He was also a dance lover and learned it professionally. He started to take part in plays in 1968. His first play was with MCC, titled “Sweet Potato,” directed by Noel Coward.

He got featured in several renowned TV serials, like ‘Sex and the City,’ ‘The Affair,’ ‘Billions,’ etc. He also did acting in many movies, like ‘The Doors,’ ‘Funny Games,’ etc.

Robert LuPone was nominated for a Tony award for the show ‘A Chorus Line’ in 1976. The same show won Pulitzer Prize for best drama category. He also got nominated for Emmy awards. His sister Patti LuPone is the recipient of the Tony award.

He also remained associated with the New School for Drama as the director of the MFA program from 2005 to 2011.

Robert LuPone is survived by Virginia, his wife, Orlando, his son, Patti LuPone, his sister, and William, his brother.
