Gang indictment case: Rapper Young Thug faces new felony charges


The 30-year-old rapper from Atlanta Young Thug is now facing six new felony charges. These new charges were filed in Fulton County Superior Court against the rapper.

The real name of rapper Young Thug is Jeffery Lamar William. He is already accused of violating RICO Act and being a founder of the YSL (Young Slime Life) street gang, which is a criminal gang.

He founded the YSL gang in 2012 along with two other persons with the help of the national-level Bloods gang. After these new charges, he is now facing allegations of possession of arms and drugs as well.

The Grammy winner, Young, was arrested almost three months ago on 9th May. After that, the investigators started a further investigation, and on the basis of things and information found during it, they formed the new charges. A new 95-page re-indictment was filed on 5th August. This indictment uses Instagram posts as proof.

Police have arrested 28 people for allegedly committing crimes on behalf of the YSL gang. One of these is the rapper Young Thug. This group of 28 people is facing a total of 65 counts, out of which Young is facing 6.

Brian Steel is fighting the case on behalf of Young Thug. He said that he would do his best to prove his client’s innocence.

Young is currently in jail along with the rapper Gunna (real name Sergio Kitchens). They both were denied bond earlier. A new date has been given to hear Young’s bond plea. It lies in the next week.

Among other persons, who are facing the charges, are Martinez Arnold, Deamonte Kendrick, Shannon Stillwell, and Quamarvious Nichols.

A tentative date has also been fixed for the trial of the rapper Young Thug. It will be on 9th January 2023.
