Executive Producer of ‘Schitt’s Creek’, Ben Feigin, Passes Away


Ben Feigin, who was the executive producer of ‘Schitt’s Creek’, passed away at the age of 47.

He took his last breath on Monday when he died due to pancreatic cancer. The confirmation of his death was given by United Talent Agency.

Ben Feigin has left behind his wife Heidi and daughter Ellie who is 11 years old.

Who was Ben Feigin?

Ben was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, and completed his graduation from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

After finishing his studies, he started to work for Warner Bros. For Warner Bros., he assisted in series like ‘Friends,’ ‘The West Wing’ and ‘ER.’

He became part of Anonymous Content in 2006 and worked to build the comedic and enterprise divisions of the business.

The series, that gave him all the fame, was ‘Schitt’s Creek.’ He was not only the executive producer but also the architect of the series. He put his best efforts into it and did everything to make the series a successful one. And he actually did it. This series proved to be a milestone in producer Ben Feigin’s career and its final season won him many awards:

  • Emmy award in the category of Outstanding Comedy Series
  • PGA award in the category of Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television for a Comedy
  • Golden Globe award in the category of Best Musical or Comedy Television Series
  • GLAAD Media Award in the category of Best Comedy Series in 2020 and 2021

The funeral Services of the late producer Ben Feigin will be performed on Thursday at Mount Sinai Cemetery in Hollywood Hills.
