Elvis Actress Shonka Dukureh Found Dead: It was a heartbreaking loss when the famous ‘Elvis’ actress Shonka Dukureh was found dead on 21st July at her apartment located in Nashville. She was 44 years old. She was living in this apartment with her two children.
Her younger son was at home at the time of her death. He discovered her body first. He noticed that his mother was lying in her bedroom and was unresponsive. He immediately informed the neighbors, and the neighbors called the authorities at 911 around 9:30 a.m.
No one revealed the reasons behind her death when the ‘Elvis’ actress Shonka Dukureh was found dead. Her dead body was sent for autopsy. But now, after a month of her passing away, the cause of her death has been made public.
As per reports given by the Tennessee Office of the State Chief Medical Examiner, no foul play was involved, and she died due to natural causes. She was suffering from hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and died because of it.
Shonka Dukureh was very much popular for her character portrayal in the movie ‘Elvis.’ She enacted the role of Big Mama Thornton. The Nashville blues singer Dukureh also appeared this year in a show performed at Coachella with rapper Doja Cat.
Dukureh was a graduate of Fisk University. Before her death, she made a social media post in which she mentioned her experiences of working in the Elvis movie. She also shared a clip in this post on Instagram.

The director of the Elvis movie, Baz Luhrmann, also paid his tributes to the departed soul through his article published in Time.
Even though there is only one movie to her name, the ‘Elvis’ actress Shonka Dukureh made a strong mark in the hearts of her fans and left a never-forgettable legacy behind.
